Meet The lone star tEAM

Cara Smith, RDH – Dental Hygienist

Cara received her dental hygiene degree in 2017 from Texas Women’s University where she graduated at the top of her class. She joined our practice in 2020 and immediately became a part of the Lone Star family. She was born and raised in Allen but currently lives in Melissa with her husband and their newborn baby girl, Penelope June!

★ What inspired your career in dental hygiene? My mom has worked in dental offices since before I was born so I kind of grew up in dentistry. I knew from a young age that I wanted to work in the dental field, but it was when I was much older that I chose the preventative side of dentistry because of the unique opportunity to build and grow relationships with patients.
★ What are your favorite hobbies? I enjoy listening to Audible books! I especially love getting book recommendations from patients. I love a wide variety of genres.
★ If you were a super hero, what would your power be? Mind reading. I would love to better understand how people are feeling and how to comfort them.

Raven Bobbitt, RDH – Dental Hygienist

Raven received her dental hygiene degree in 2018 from the Texas A&M College of Dentistry Dental Hygiene program. Before deciding on a career in dental hygiene, Raven was a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher for several years where she honed her skills of patience and empathy. Raven lives in McKinney with her husband, Brad, and their two precious boys- Eli and Brooks!

★What inspired you to retire from teaching and join the field of dental hygiene?  I loved working in education but I was eager to join a field where I could benefit patient’s health and help to educate them on their oral health. Dentistry also provided better work-to-life opportunities for me as a mother!
★ What is your favorite dessert? I am a dental hygienist with a huge sweet tooth, so I won’t be the one to lecture you on your candy eating habits! Luckily, I always have floss close by.
★ What do you like to do outside of the office? I love to travel and show my boys new places. We most recently took them on a Disney cruise and had the best time!
